Tynedale U18s 19        Percy Park Under 17s  25

That old Greek fella Aesop knew a thing or two…

With no under 17 cup to contest Park under 17's travelled to Tynedale to play in the quarter final of the under 18 county cup. Park travelled more in hope than expectation, but at least their young side was determined to play and uphold the spirit of the game.

As expected the weather was grim and Tynedale adapted to the conditions with an effective driving game which pinned Park in their own half for much of the first twenty minutes, only courageous defence prevented them from scoring more than one try. Park worked their way in to the game and skipper Anderson kicked a simple penalty to peg the opposition back.

Park Under 17s Crowned Northumberland 7s Champions

Fresh from their victory over Argentinian side St Albans College, Park made the short trip to Northern for the finals of the U17 Northumberland 7s where, for the first time at this age group, Park won the cup and in the process did not concede a single point.

A combined Percy Park and Kings Priory xv had the honour of hosting St Albans College Buenos Aires first XV under lights at Percy Park. The hosts hanging on for victory in an enthralling game.

The difference in Hemispheres meant that St Albans were ending a season whilst the hosts had yet to play a game this season. Resultantly St Albans started the game at a furious pace which the hosts found difficult to contain.

U16's v Ponteland

Ponteland 0 Percy Park 36

Park expected a hard game and got exactly that…

For the first 15 minutes of this tough but sporting encounter there was little between the two sides. Ponteland’s ability to play the game right on the offside line, combined with Park’s inability to comply with the laws resulted in a stop start game which suited the home side.
