Welcome to Percy Park Juniors

U16's v Carlisle

E-mail Print PDF

Carlisle 19, Park 15

On a windy and wet day Carlisle and Percy Park put everything they had in to this game and in the end the difference was two conversions to Carlisle...
From the first whistle Carlisle, playing in to the wind, used their forwards to establish field position; however their pick and drive game was nullified by determined and aggressive Park defence. Great work by the Park forwards in their own 22 resulted in a turnover, the long kick was chased down by Josh and after a series of punishing drives by the Park forwards Ben scored in the corner (0-5).

U16's v Billiwick

Percy Park U16's 74 v Alnwick and Billingham 5

Sadly the day started with a minute’s silence, a mark of respect to Billingham, one of their players having recently lost his younger sister. Our condolences go out to all.

A combination of fixture mix up and both Alnwick and Billingham being short of players led to a combined squad from both clubs playing Park U16's - a great example of working together to get game time.

Park made some major changes to their pack, a new second row pairing of Morgan and Mark and a new back row of Miles, Joe Campbell and Jake Smith. In the backs Ciaran switched from wing to inside centre.

From the whistle Park’s new pack bristled with intent, immediately turning over several rucks allowing the Park backs to attack with real menace.

Park U16's come out on top in a game of “three halves”

Morpeth U16's 7, Percy Park U16's 36

Park travelled North with a large squad for a game against their old friends Morpeth; both teams agreeing to a format of three 25 minute periods. Park started like a team on a mission; however their high risk off-loading game combined with some basic handling errors resulted in a staggering 6 knock-ons in the Morpeth 22 within the first 10 minutes. Not to be deterred the Park forwards continued to churn out ball and soon the pressure told with a well worked try in the corner.
