Percy Park travelled down to Guisborough for what is normally a very tight and well contested disciplined game. Today’s fixture was slightly different…………..

Soon after the start of the game Park gave away a penalty in the middle of the pitch, Guisborough kicked for touch and then won the lineout. They proceeded to get a drive on and pushed Park back towards there own 22, the ball was then spun out to their fly half to score and make it 5-0 and the conversion was missed. It then went a bit hay wire with some fisty cuffs in the lineout. Although the Park player seemed the aggressor the referee saw it as six of one and half a dozen of the other. The player was given a stern warning. But what happen next was unsavoury. A Park player used his feet in the ruck and was rightly sinned binned for 10 minute. So with a player down it was soon 10 with a good try by Guisborough and the conversion made it12-0. Then from the restart a Park player inexplicably punched out and was shown the red card. But from here Parks play picked up and they had some good possession. This lead to the ball been swung wide to Ben Robertson who was stopped just short of the line, good follow up play from Jack Dent saw him place the ball over the line to get Park back in the game along with the conversion from Jack Jeffrey made it 12-7 at half time.

The second half was a completely different storey. Guisborough made fully use of the extra made and pulled Park all over the place resulting in them running in 4 trys and one conversion to make it 34-7. It was only in the last 5 minutes or so that Park showed they could play with one man down, by keeping the ball and pick and driving. This resulted in a rumble up the pitch with Matty Atkinson going over to make the final score 34-12.
